(100% of precincts fully reporting.)

I cannot express my gratitude for every single person who voted. Both for me and for my opponent. Trust in local government and knowing that every vote counts is what matters most.

Thank you to Wanda, my rock, and my wife of 53 years. And to my family and friends who all have full-time jobs and still worked tirelessly on this mission for change.

District 2 came together in a bipartisan way and voted for something new. I look forward to collaborating, finding common ground, and getting to work with full transparency. Local elections are so important, and I won’t take this position lightly – what an honor it is to serve on Las Cruces City Council once again.

Going door-to-door and speaking with voters was eye-opening and it’s clear what needs to be done. It’s time to deliver on promises.

It’s also important that the people who didn’t vote for me know that my door will be open and that I’ll always listen to all points of view. Diversity of opinion and compromise often lead to the best solutions.

Thanks again to everyone who believes in change and experience. I’m happy to say the department of common sense will be reopening soon.

Bill Mattiace for City Council

“District 2 has been my home for over 30 years, but it’s not the vibrant and safe community it once was. I’m not running for me; I’m running for you. My passion for helping this community combined with my proven experience will bring the positive change District 2 needs. Nonpartisan local government is an opportunity to focus on what matters. Let’s reopen the department of common sense!”
